Shamans understand that soul loss is the root of much illness and confusion in our lives. It may be caused by pain or trauma or heartbreak, by wrenching life choices, or by wimping out on our best and bravest dreams. It can reduce us to the condition of the walking dead, passionless and dreary, forever trying to fit in with other people's needs and expectations, lost to our own deeper purpose.

Soul Retrieval is a shamanic operation in which the practitioner journeys to bring back lost soul-parts and puts them into the client's body (typically by blowing into one or more of the energy centers, most often the heart or the crown of the head). Soul Recovery is a practice in which we help each other to become self-healers and function as our own shamanic practitioners - to gather and integrate our own families of selves and bring wholeness and vital energy into our lives.

Dream reentry frequently opens the road to soul recovery, because our dreams show us where our missing parts may have gone, and invite us to reach in and bring them back. By going back inside the dream of the "old place", we may be able to locate that lost aspect of our own identity and energy, and find the way to bring it back into our hearts and our lives. Typically, soul recovery of this kind will require reassurance and negotiation. Our younger self will need to be assured that we are safe and we are fun.

We must recognize that dream drought – a primary symptom of soul loss - is an epidemic in modern society.  This is a serious condition. The Iroquois say that if we have lost our dreams, we have lost our souls - at least, the part of our soul-self that is the dreamer and remembers the deeper life.   What do we do for a person who does not have a dream?  We’ll learn how to help the dream-deprived reopen the dreamgates, bring home the magical child, engage the spirit animals, connect with wise ancestors, and engage with the Higher Self.

In this powerful training at a magical site in the greenwoods, you’ll open gateways for healing and empowerment for yourself, for your friends in the dreaming family we’ll grow, and for those you are called to help in everyday life.

We’ll learn how to-         

• Clear a space for soul healing through spiritual cleansing

• Invoke helping spirits for our work

• Set and maintain good psychic boundaries

• Heal our relations with the dead and release unwanted energies of the dead

• Reclaim vital energy and identity of younger selves

• Grow a dream for someone in need of a dream

• Bring back missing soul parts from the Lands of Lost Girls and Boys

• Open or restore working connections with the animal spirits

• Journey through the chakras to produce maps for energy work and soul healing

• Perform shamanic soul retrieval (when appropriate) in safe and responsible ways

• Engage in cultural soul recovery by connecting with wise ancestors of the traditions that are calling us

• Move towards spiritual enthronement, which means embodying more of the Higher Self

• Entertain our spirits with spontaneous art and performance, story-swapping and poetic enchantment.

On graduation, you will receive a certificate of completion.

What to bring:

• Your journal

• A bandanna or sleep shade for your eyes

• A drum or rattle if you have one

• A small quartz crystal or citrine

• Some special stones

• Objects that evoke happy memories of childhood (teddy bears always welcome)

• Treats or snacks your child self would enjoy

Note: We expect many more candidates for this training than there are places. Preference will be given to those who have already completed workshops and/or online courses with Robert. TUITION:  $795 if paid in full by November 1 $895 thereafter. A $200 deposit is required to confirm your space. Cost includes Sandie's celebrated gourmet lunches all 5 days.
